Ngāruawahia reacts to scathing letter to Māori king

From Morning Report, 6:19 am on 16 August 2018

A Ngāruawahia resident with strong ties to the Kīngitanga says she can understand why a scathing letter was sent to the Māori King. King Tuheitia's former adviser, Tukoroirangi Morgan, penned the highly critical letter about spending in the king's office, by Rangi Whakaruru. In the letter, Mr Morgan claims Mr Whakaruru has a $250,000 salary, has taken out big loans and drives expensive cars. Te Manu Korihi reporter John Boynton spoke to Pareoranga Te Kata in Ngāruawahia, and he started by asking her about the importance of the Kīngitanga for followers.
