Teachers' strike building for a long time - Louise Green

From Morning Report, 7:10 am on 15 August 2018

Almost half a million children won't be going to school on Wednesday as primary school teachers strike. Nearly 29,000 teachers and principals are taking action closing almost every primary and intermediate school in New Zealand.

Rallies are being held from Auckland to Invercargill. Teachers say they need better pay and conditions to attract more people to teaching and keep them in the profession.

Louise Green, the lead negotiator for the teachers' union - the NZ Educational Institute - talks to Guyon Espiner.
