From Morning Report, 7:40 am on 9 August 2018

A senior Massey University academic, Chris Gallavin, has called out his Vice Chancellor for banning Don Brash from speaking on campus, says her decision was "unequivocally wrong". On Tuesday former the National leader's invitation to speak at the University's Manawatu campus was withdrawn because of security concerns. Tonight he will take part in a debate at the University of Auckland about free speech. Susie Ferguson is joined by Chris Gallavin, deputy pro vice chancellor at Massey University, and Karl Pearce, who wrote to vice chancellor Jan Thomas saying the Massey event could be used as a platform for separatist hate speech.
