Developers wait on govt for KiwiBuild plans

The government's been warned it's at risk of putting off developers if it takes too long to make decisions about who it will use for the KiwiBuild scheme. Some developers, who met the June deadline for putting forward plans, say they have still have heard nothing. Auckland housing expert Leonie Freeman says if the government wants to meet its target of one thousand affordable homes built by June next year, it needs the trust of the private sector. She told RNZ reporter Tom Furley developers have spent time and money to meet deadlines and it's critical for the credibility of the government team managing Kiwibuild to stick to the timetable.
