Robotic spacecraft poised for close encounter with sun
NASA scientists don't want to just hear the Sun, they're hoping to get up close and nearly touch it. NASA is sending the Parker Solar Probe - a robotic spacecraft - closer to the Sun than any one or thing has ever been. The historic mission will hopefully unlock secrets about the Sun's atmosphere. A Heliophysicist from NASA, Alex Young, says they're hoping to find out more about the "corona" area around the sun which extends millions of kilometres into outerspace. Morning Report producer Lucy Smith speaks to Dr Young.
