Bella Vista neighbours support homeowners suing council
Some neighbours of the failed Bella Vista housing development in Tauranga have lost faith in the city council. The Tauranga City Council signed off on shoddy construction work at the development, but later deemed the homes too dangerous to live in. It offered to buy back the homes for the price residents paid for them up to three years ago. On Wednesday, all the former homeowners announced they will sue the city council, unless it presents a better compensation offer. Neighbours Jill Finch and Pauline Wilkinson told RNZ reporter Eva Corlett they support the court action.
