John Tamihere tries to halt Pare Hauraki settlement sign-off

The Ngati Porou ki Hauraki lead negotiator, John Tamihere, has filed an injuction at the High Court in an effort to stop the signing of the Pare Hauraki collective redress deed in Parliament on Thursday. He says his iwi has faced prejudice at the hands of the Crown and throughout the Treaty settlement process. Treaty Negotiations Minister Andrew Little announced last week he intends to sign off on the controversial Treaty settlement. John Tamihere admits it's a last ditch bid, and a long shot.
