Shane Reti discusses National's medicinal cannabis bill

There's no relief in sight for the dying and chronically unwell, as a scrap over medicinal cannabis unfolds. The National Party has withdrawn its support for the government's bill which is currently before select committee. Instead Dr Shane Reti has drafted a new Member's Bill. Health select committee chair Louisa Wall told us earlier that the Opposition is playing politics and has not been genuine about negotiating amendments. "We are ready to go with a fully-fledged medicinal cannabis scheme," and National had reached across the House for support yesterday, National's Dr Shane Reti tells Philippa Tolley.
