Govt plans drinking water quality law change

From Morning Report, 7:24 am on 5 July 2018

The government is planning law changes so it can move more quickly to improve drinking water quality around the country. It is the first official government response to the Havelock North Water Inquiry which made dozens of recommendations after investigating the gastro outbreak that left more than 5,000 people sick in August 2016. Ministry of Health figures last week show about one in five New Zealanders are drinking water from town supplies that don't meet all current drinking water standards. Health Minister David Clark talks to Susie Ferguson.
