Frisky shark flirts with Trans-Tasman kayaker

From Morning Report, 7:16 am on 3 July 2018

Scott Donaldson raised his arms in jubilation just before 9pm Monday when, after two months of paddling, he became the first person to cross the Tasman solo in a kayak. Describing his arrival as "sensory overload" he made land at Port Taranaki. Speaking to the crowd there to meet him, he joked about a frisky two-metre shark that flirted with the rudder of his 80 kilogram kayak during his record-making expedition. RNZ Taranaki reporter Robin Martin was at Port Taranaki when Scott Donaldson came ashore.
