Labour opening floodgates to strikes - Simon Bridges
Opposition leader Simon Bridges says the Labour-led government is opening the floodgates to industrial disruption. Four thousand state sector workers at the Inland Revenue Department and the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment will stage two, two-hour stoppages next month in pursuit of better wages and conditions. Nurses are set to walk off the job for two days over their pay demands, and primary teachers are voting on whether they will go on strike. Simon Bridges told RNZ political reporter Gia Garrick the blame lies with the government.
