MPI easy to deal with over fallen kauri - Epsom man
On Monday on Morning Report we heard from a woodworker who says he's been unfairly treated by the Ministry for Primary over some swamp kauri he bought from a subdivision developer. Kerry Scott's being prosecuted by MPI for milling a couple of logs without a permit. He blames - in part - MPI's confusing paperwork-system - saying he sent in the wrong form by mistake and never heard back. That sparked a call from Ian of Epsom - who told RNZ Northland reporter Lois Williams he found the Ministry a breeze to deal with when a kauri he planted 30 years ago in his backyard was toppled in a storm.
