Nurses have rejected a half a billion dollar pay offer, in part, because it leaves junior staff in the cold. Thousands of nurses have voted to go on strike next month after rejecting an updated pay offer from District Health Boards. The latest offer includes increases of between nine and 15 percent to be rolled out over 18 months but nurses say the benefits haven't been spread across the sector. A nurse of eight years, Kathleen, told our reporter Eva Corlett, she would have benefited from the 15 percent payrise but says it would risk losing junior staff.
