Auckland Council culture needs to change - Mike Lee
Auckland Mayor Phil Goff is under fire from his own council, with critics saying he has created a distrustful political working environment. Nine of 19 councillors have signed a letter describing "strong dissatisfaction" with the way Mr Goff handled a $900,000 ratepayer-funded report about a future downtown stadium. Councillors say the lack of trust became evident when Mr Goff refused to release the report to them - he later offered to show them with conditions attached. Mr Goff said the report was commerically sensitive and that he was protecting third parties because of concern it will be leaked to the media. Mr Goff says he trusts most councillors - but not all. One of the critical councillors Mike Lee speaks to Susie Ferguson.
