Toxic foam: NZDF ordered to stop 'unauthorised' discharge

The military has been ordered to stop putting toxic firefighting foam into the stormwater at Ohakea air base. The Defence Force insists it hasn't used the chemicals for two years, but the Manawatu-Whanganui Regional Council is not convinced and thinks the contaminants have been getting into streams and aquifers.
