Housing NZ to treat meth use as health issue - Twyford

From Morning Report, 7:46 am on 13 June 2018

The government has confirmed meth users won't be kicked out of state houses. Housing Minister Phil Twyford tells us it's not Housing New Zealand's role to police the use of the illegal drug, ahead of a fresh investigation into the bungled testing regime that saw tenants kicked out of houses. The six-week review will scrutinise Housing New Zealand, the Ministry of Health as well as the Tenancy Tribunal. Mr Twyford tells Guyon Espiner the report will include a case-by-case inventory of the tested houses and what happened to tenants.
