Unitec posts $31m deficit, govt appoints financial adviser

Unitec, the country's largest polytechnic, has reported a $31 million defict fo 2017. Auditors have warned there are threats to the intitution's viability and the Government has appointed a financial adviser. Unitec lost 660 full-time students last year at the same time it undertook a major building project. RNZ education correspondent, John Gerritsen, has been talking to Unitec's management and looking at its annual report.
