Govt needs expert help with KiwiBuild - Salvation Army

From Morning Report, 7:55 am on 29 May 2018

The Salvation Army says the Housing Minister Phil Twyford needs to call in experts if his Kiwibuild scheme is to succeed. It is backing the government's plan to build 100,000 affordable homes over the next ten years, but says government departments are not equipped to make sure enough homes can be built for the families that need them. Alan Johnson is a senior policy advisor for the Salvation Army. He talks to Susie Ferguson. Mr Twyford says a KiwiBuild unit within MBIE has been set up, and has been working intensively with both the development and construction industry.
