Ex-CIA analyst admits Trump irony in China influence warning
A former CIA analyst has told a congressional committee thought should be given to removing New Zealand from the Five Eyes intelligence alliance because of what he says are Labour Party's links to the Communist Party of China. Peter Mattis says one of the Labour Party's major fund raisers has links to the United Front - a popular grouping of state-sanctioned parties in China, which includes the governing Communist Party. Labour denies the claims and says it complies with the Electoral Act regarding party donations. Mr Mattis tells Guyon Espiner much of the information gathered in New Zealand was from media reports.
