Chile's 34 bishops resign over sex abuse report
In an unprecedented move, all of Chile's 34 Catholic bishops have resigned after failing to act on the issue of sexual abusive priests. Pope Francis summoned them to Rome after a receiving a 2,300-page report. The Pope said the systemic failures had left him "perplexed and ashamed." Yesterday, an Australian court found Archbishop Philip Wilson guilty of covering up child sexual abuse. He's the most senior Catholic to be convicted of concealing child sexual abuse. John Allen is the editor of Crux and a much-published author on the Catholic church and its future. He talks to Guyon Espiner.
