Mandatory training considered for bar staff to stop abuse

A Wellington city councillor's been critised for being heavy handed and prejudiced in her efforts to stamp out sexual assault. The council's draft long term plan includes a proposal that sexual abuse prevention training for bar workers should be part of a bar's licensing. But in a submission on the plan Hospitality New Zealand says measures being considered - driven by councillor Fleur Fitzsimons - are unneccesary.
