From Morning Report, 8:50 am on 9 May 2018

In its latest pre-Budget announcement, the government says it will boost funding for combating family violence. Social Development Minister Carmel Sepuloni says the 30 percent increase will help turn around New Zealand's tragic family violence record. She discusses this with Susie Ferguson, as well as abatement rates for fruit picking workers. "We stated clearly we will be looking at lifting abatement rates. It will happen... It's not only those in kiwifruit picking industry, I've spoken to many in disability sector about the impact it has on them. It's something we're committed to looking at."
