Victoria University of Wellington is looking to shorten its name to University of Wellington, but some argue this is a chance to better incorporate te reo into the name. Victoria does currently have a Maori name of Te Whare Wananga o te Upoko o te Ika a Maui. But that name is rarely used when discussing the school in everyday conversation.
