The ownership of the Warriors looks set to be kept in New Zealand. The Auckland Rugby League, through the Carlaw Heritage Trust, have got an agreement to buy the team from majority owner Eric Watson. A consortium, involving professional sportsmen of Pacific descent, had also been in talks to buy the NRL franchise, but appear to have been out-bid. Graham Lowe is a former Kiwis coach, a Warriors supporter, and has been involved in the ARL bid to buy the New Zealand Warriors.
