Black cockatoo flees Auckland Zoo for North Shore

A cockatoo that escaped during a flight training at Auckland Zoo has been returned safely to the keepers, after a night out. Mabo the red-tail cocktatoo was on his second free-flight training session outside his enclosure. The session teaches the bird how to fly outside the enclosure, and then back down. However things didn't quite go according to plan. Lizzie Perret - Auckland Zoo's team leader of Animal Experiences, told RNZ reporter Sophia Duckor-Jones about his escapade.
