'The Church is not honest' about priest celibacy - former monk

An expert on celibacy is predicting a long battle in New Zealand for the Catholic church to face up to the issue of priests secretly fathering children. Several New Zealanders have for the first time contacted an international online support network to say a priest is their father, and an Auckland woman recently won acknowledgement of her case by her Bishop. Richard Sipe is a former Benedictine monk and sociologist whose research into the criminal sexual activity of Catholic clergy helped underpin scores of US lawsuits against the Church. He spoke with RNZ's Phil Pennington.
