Mother who prostituted teen daughter gets six years' prison

A teenage girl whose mother pimped her out for sex as many as five times a day, says all she ever wanted was for her mother to love her. Kasmeer Lata was yesterday sentenced in the High Court in Auckland to six years and 11 months in prison, after earlier pleading guilty to charges of dealing in slaves and sexual exploitation. The case is the first of its kind in New Zealand where someone has been prosecuted for exploiting their children for sexual labour.
