Online streaming of sports the new norm

New Zealanders are being warned online content is only going to increase in the coming years, while traditional media will become more limited in its offerings. The Commonwealth Games were livestreamed 2.3 million times, but free to air television is still proving the most popular with 3 million individual viewers tuning into the games. However, all but seven of the Rugby World Cup games will only be available via the internet. Internet NZ chief executive Jordan Carter told RNZ reporter Charlie Dreaver there will need to be mindset change for some people.
