NZ's big day in the field at Commonwealth Games
The New Zealand Commonwealth Games team is celebrating the best effort ever at a games held outside New Zealand. The team won 46 medals - one more than Glasgow four years ago - including 15 golds. And in a late bonus, weightlifter David Liti was named the outstanding athlete of the games, winning the David Dixon Award. That announcement came at last night's closing ceremony. RNZ's sports editor Stephen Hewson is on the Gold Coast and says the closing ceremony was the only dud note of the competition.
