The government has told the New Zealand oil industry to get real. The oil industry says it was shocked and blindsided by the government's announcement that it will be ending offshore oil and gas exploration. Andrew Little, a senior cabinet minister, travelled to Taranaki last night where he told a public meeting the world is changing and it's time the oil industry faced the facts.
