Investigative journalist Nicky Hager has welcomed the Government launching an inquiry into the actions of New Zealand's elite SAS soldiers during a raid in Agfghanistan. Mr Hager co-authored the book Hit and Run which claimed six innocent Afghan civilians were killed and others wounded in a botched raid in 2010 and that the incident was covered up by the military. Attorney-General David Parker announced the inquiry on Wednesday, saying the public needs to have confidence in the Defence Force. Mr Hager told political reporter Benedict Collins he thinks the inquiry is very good news.
