Julia Ratcliffe: From cow paddocks to gold medals
New Zealand's Julia Ratcliffe won gold in the women's hammer throw at the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games last night to claim the team's fourth athletics medal. The 24-year-old was in dominant form, producing the two biggest throws of the night - her best effort flying 69.94 metres. A silver medallist at the 2014 Glasgow Games, Ratcliffe told RNZ's Joe Porter her journey to gold went from muddy paddocks to an ivy league university and back again.
