Nurses protest at Middlemore hospital over pay
About 200 nurses are protesting in the rain at Middlemore Hospital, about their pay and work conditions. Last month, the nurses union - on behalf of members - rejected an offer of a 2 percent pay rise as part of the nurses' collective agreement. The DHB says patient services will not be affected and anyone needing emergency treatment or with an appointment should go to their hospital as normal. RNZ reporter Jessie Chiang has spoken to some of the nurses and joins us from Middlemore Hospital.
