Senior doctors say under-funding is to blame for a ballooning projected deficit by district health boards. Latest figures released by the Health Ministry show DHBs will be in the red to the tune of $189 million by the end of the financial year, on June 30. It could be even worse - a combined deficit of at least $225 million when nurses' pay claim is factored in. Health correspondent Karen Brown has the details.
