Silver Ferns took Malawi too lightly - Yvonne Willering

From Morning Report, 7:22 am on 9 April 2018

From the golden highs of the cycling velodrome and the bowling green, to the lows of the Gold Coast Convention Centre, where the Kiwi netball team suffered a historic loss on Sunday night.

The Silver Ferns lost by four goals (53-57) to the Malawi Queens - the first time the New Zealanders have ever lost to anyone but Australia at the Commonwealth Games. After the match, coach Janine Southby admitted there were problems all over the court, not just in the circle where there were two really young defenders.

Yvonne Willering is a former netball international, and a past coach of the Silver Ferns. She discusses the loss with Susie Ferguson.
