From Morning Report, 6:20 am on 9 April 2018

New Zealand track cyclist Sam Webster cemented his place as the sprint king of the Commonwealth Games with two outstanding performances on the velodrome in Brisbane. The 26-year-old won gold in Thursday night's men's team sprint alongside Eddie Dawkins and Ethan Mitchell before backing up and winning Saturday night's individual men's sprint over Scotland's Jack Carlin in a photo finish, defending both the titles he won at the 2014 Glasgow Games. He told RNZ reporter Joe Porter there were anxious seconds as he waited to find for the men's sprint result to be confirmed.
