Tackling the road toll a complex balancing act - academic
The government says spending more on public transport and regional roads will bring down the road toll. On Tuesday it outlined a ten-year transport strategy that includes more median barriers and other measures to make local roads safer. But a University of Auckland academic says addressing the road toll, and transport problems in general, is a complex balancing act. Senior lecturer in Transportation Engineering, Douglas Wilson, speaks to Susie Ferguson.
