House prices have picked up pace nationally, though Auckland and Christchurch remain subdued. The latest QV figures show values rose 7.3% in the year to March, with the national average price now sitting at $678,000. Auckland prices rose 1%, compared with growth of more than 12% last year, while Christchurch's values shrank 0.6%.
