Auckland drivers face tax hike under transport funding changes

Auckland drivers face a double tax hike under sweeping changes to transport funding proposed by the Government. It's looking at raising fuel taxes by between nine to 12 cents a litre to help fund safer roads, improve cycle ways and boost investment in rail. For Aucklanders, that would come on top of a regional fuel tax - due to take effect in July. The tax increase and the new regional tax together will increase fuel prices, once GST is added, by close to 25 cents a litre. Sally Murphy has more.
