Air NZ wants jail time for reckless drone pilots

From Morning Report, 7:46 am on 28 March 2018

Air New Zealand wants prison sentences for drone pilots involved in life-threatening near misses with aircraft. The call comes after a drone came within five metres of an Air New Zealand international flight on final approach to Auckland Airport on Sunday. Earlier in March the airport ceased operations for thirty minutes after another Air New Zealand pilot reported a drone within controlled airspace. Tim Robinson is the President of the Airline Pilots Association.
