Louisa Wall urges action over Middlemore Hospital rot

A South Auckland Labour MP is demanding answers over the rotting Middlemore Hospital plus immediate action to make sure dangerous fungal spores are not escaping. Louisa Wall says nothing about the leaky building crisis revealed by RNZ last week was disclosed by the Counties Manukau District Health Board at its annual reviews with MPs. The DHB has admitted that sustained under-investment in its facilities means it now has an ageing building stock that "is no longer fit for purpose".
