The former Counties Manukau District Health Board chair, Lee Mathias, says it was common knowlege there was mould within the walls of Middlemore Hospital buildings when she headed the board. But that's been news to the Health Minister David Clark, who says the Counties Manukau DHB who only told him about one of the four buildings with critical problems. Dr Mathias stepped down from her role at Counties Manukau at the end of 2016 but says the decay in the buildings had been around long before her time.
