NZ school attendance hits seven-year low

The number of children attending school regularly has hit a seven year low. Just 63 percent of children attended school more than 90 percent of the time in term two of 2017. In decile one schools the figure was 47 percent. RNZ education correspondent John Gerritsen has been reading the ministry's annual report on school attendance and joins us in the studio.
