Ngaruawahia rallies around family after girl's death on bridge

From Morning Report, 8:12 am on 20 March 2018

The Ngaruawahia community is rallying to support the family of an eleven-year-old girl killed on Sunday while playing on a train bridge across the Waikato River. A Givealittle page has been set up for the family of the girl of which funds will go towards a funeral and any other needs. The bridge is a popular spot with locals to climb on and jump in the river, but the girl is the third person to have died on it since 2002. Some locals, like Polly Martin who has lived all her life in Ngaruawahia, are asking what can be done to stop children playing on or jumping off the bridge.
