Defence Force admits 'Hit & Run' had correct village

From Morning Report, 7:28 am on 14 March 2018

The Defence Force has now admitted photographs in the controversial book "Hit and Run" are of an Afghan village the SAS attacked in 2010. But it's still denying claims in the book that civilians were killed, saying one man identified as an insurgent was shot dead. It says only two shots were fired by SAS soldiers during the entire operation. Last year the Defence Force Chief, Tim Keating, said the SAS took part in a raid on the village in Tirgiran valley but it was in significantly different terrain from the one featured in the book. Nicky Hager is one of the authors of Hit and Run. He talks to Susie Ferguson.
