Intern abuse not confined to legal professsion
After last week's revelations about sexual abuse of interns at a large Wellington law firm, Universities and student groups have now confirmed abuse and harrassment is widespread across internships and work placements. The Union of Students Associations says young interns are particularly vulnerable and university managers are meeting next month to tighten their rules and better protect students. Their comments follow revelations several Victoria University students on internships at law firm Russell McVeagh reported being sexually assaulted by two senior lawyers two years ago.
