Joyce predicts smooth transition to new National leader

From Morning Report, 6:46 am on 14 February 2018

The jostling to replace Bill English as leader of the National Party is beginning - with MPs expected to declare their intentions in the coming days. The caucus has just two weeks to decide on Mr English's successor, after he announced yesterday he'd quit politics later this month. No one has yet to officially throw their hat in the ring, but possible candidates include Simon Bridges, Amy Adams and Judith Collins. The senior MP Steven Joyce was asked yesterday whether he would rule himself in or out as a potential contender.
