Toxic foam: 'Put people first' - Dr Rye Senjen

From Morning Report, 8:21 am on 7 February 2018

An environmental group is lobbying for free blood tests for people possibly affected by chemicals found in firefighting foam used at Ohakea and Sanson airbases. Free tests are available but only for people confirmed to have unsafe levels of the chemicals in their drinking water. Talia Yeates lives right next door to Ohakea airbase but is not eligible for a free blood test and nor are her two children - because they swim in their bore water but don't drink it. Dr Rye Senjen is the director of Environmental and Human Health Aotearoa and was an expert witness at an Australian parliamentary inquiry into toxic foam. She talks to Guyon Espiner.
