A diehard Neil Diamond fan who had been hoping to meet her musical idol at one of his concerts in March thought the news the singer has cancelled his tour was a scam at first. Dianne Raynes, who is arguably New Zealand's biggest Neil Diamond fan, had been looking forward to her 11th concert in Napier in March but the singer yesterday announced he won't be touring any more after being diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. She tells Guyon Espiner about her love of Diamond since seeing him at the age of 14.
