Health bosses say Auckland mumps outbreak now an epidemic

Health authorities say the mumps outbreak in Auckland is now an epidemic. They've written to the Ministry of Health urging it to launch a catch-up vaccination campaign, saying a national response is needed. More than a thousand people have contracted mumps this year, three-quarters of them from the so called "lost generation" of 10 to 29-year olds with low vaccination rates.
